I'm writing this almost from a view of reverence for the first time we were together. It seems like so long ago that we were together the first time. We met online as many people do these days.
We talked for almost a month before we ended up meeting in person. She lived about an hour away and we wanted to get together sooner, we just clicked instantly and we figured that we'd hit it off in person. We'd both met people online before, so we were prepared for the almost inevitable 3rd eye. She came to my city, her schedule was lighter than mine since she was only working half days. We met in a local bookstore that was only a few minutes away from my apartment. I had made dinner reservations at a local restaurant and we had about an hour to meet, talk a bit, and, if we didn't scare each other off, drop her car at my place and head downtown for some dinner. Funny how plans work out. It was snowing really hard that day. I had gotten a haircut on my lunch, so that I wasn't so hippy-ish. My short hair made my ears rather cold. I went into the bookstore to meet her. I saw her sitting in the corner with a magazine and a drink. I instantly recognized her from her pictures and she just looked like the person I had been talking to nearly nightly for the past month. I was nervous, so was she. We talked for a few minutes. It snowed harder. We agreed to go back to my place - I'd show her around, then we'd go off for dinner. The snow kept coming. It took us almost 15 minutes to get to my apartment from the store. It's usually a 5 minute drive at the most. I showed her around my apartment, she met my cats and we had a drink. We waited a half hour or so, then decided we were hungry and were going to go for dinner. The snow had piled against the door and it was snowing harder than ever. There was no way we were going for dinner. We decided to cut our losses with dinner, order a pizza and watch a movie. We were pretty comfortable with each other by that point. There were no surprises from my point of view and she seemed receptive to me. We ordered a pizza, put on some comfy clothes (her idea) and laid in front of the TV. We didn't end up watching much of the movie - we talked through most of it. The pizza came, we ate and talked some more. --------- This post is getting a little long and I have some work to do, so I'll take a break and try to finish it a little later. 0 Comments |
