Today, my brother Stealth Helmet, his friend, Cool Hippy Fucktard, and I were discussing PC case designs. the main motivation behind this is the fact that pretty soon I'm gonna be replacing my motherboard due to shitty capacitors, and if I'm gonna change the mobo, maybe a new case is in order too. Well, after discussing this for a while, I came up with a bright idea: Why not build a PC case out of Legos? They're cheap, they're fun, and you can practically do anything with them. We agreed that this was a really cool idea if it could be done right, and CHF said that if I could pull it off, he might just buy a "Lego Computer" from me.
So, I decided to do a quick search on the good old interweb to see if I could find a nice free piece of CAD software that could help me design this Uber-Case. Well, to my surprise, there happens to be some CAD Software that is specially made for building with Lego blocks called MLCAD. I suggest anybody that enjoyed playing with Legos, or anybody who STILL enjoys playing with Lego blocks, goes and downloads this software. It's free, and it includes every type of Lego block you could ever need for building. Just go to the download page, follow the instructions, and you'll be building with Legos again in no time, and this time you don't have to worry about stepping barefoot on one of those damn 2x2 blocks and falling down the stairs! Right now, I'm using this software to help get an idea of how I want to build my Lego PC, and to find out just how many blocks I'm going to need so that I can order them from Lego's Online Store. They even use the regular Lego colors, (except transparent), so that you'll know exactly what colors you want your creation to be too! I know right now, I probably sound like a total geek, but I don't care. I'm a geek and I'm damn proud of it. And damn it, I enjoy playing with Legos! You should too. I'm not afraid to admit it, and neither should anybody else. But anyways, I'm gonna go back to my program and do some more building on my Legoputer. See you later! -Honkey Kong Mood: creative 1 Comment |
